‘God of War’: Dave Bautista in Talks to Play Kratos After Ryan Hurst Exit
Prime Video’s “God of War” adaptation may have found its Kratos.
Dave Bautista is currently in talks to take over the main role in the live-action TV adaptation of the popular PlayStation game series. This news comes weeks after Ryan Hurst, who had already begun filming as Kratos, suffered a bicep injury on set that caused the production to recast the role.
Ronald D. Moore created the live-action adaptation and serves as showrunner. The show is produced by Sony Pictures Television, Amazon MGM Studios, PlayStation Productions and Tall Ship Productions.
Deadline first reported this news.

‘F.A.S.T.’ Written By Taylor Sheridan Moves Release Date To Summer 2027
The weekend before summer 2027 is getting quite bulky, so Warner Bros is shifting the release date of its special forces commando pic F.A.S.T. to mid-May next year, specifically May 14, a frame where it launched Final Destination: Bloodlines and more recently Mortal Kombat II.
The film, which reps the feature directorial debut of TV episodic director Ben Richardson (Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, 1923), follows a former special forces commando tapped by the DEA to lead a black-ops strike team against CIA-protected drug dealers.
Brandon Sklenar, Sam Claflin, Juliana Canfield, Trevante Rhodes, LaKeith Stanfield and Jason Clarke star in a movie that’s written by Taylor Sheridan. Producers are David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford of Heyday Films and Sheridan and Jenny Wood of Bosque Ranch Productions.
F.A.S.T. moves away from Amazon MGM Studios’ Spaceballs: The New One and Neon’s Chloe Dumont thriller A Place in Hell and to a weekend where it’s currently the only major studio wide entry.
It had previously been slated for April 23, 2027.
