Synopsis

There is a legend that tells of how the world was almost destroyed thousands of years ago by the vampire queen after she unleashed her latent powers. Despite their efforts, the humans were unable to defeat her, and thus resorted to sealing her away until the time came that they would be powerful enough to destroy the seal and kill her. However, the humans are not the only ones after the seal. Having cast aside his kingdom and betraying his own race and the dhampirs (half-vampires), the vampire king is persistently searching, even to this day, for where his queen has been sealed away so he may break the seal and free her before the humans do. Fearing that once the king and queen are reunited, they shall continue to destroy the world together, the humans and dhampirs hunt the king, using any method possible. (Source: Anime Source)

The November issue of Hakusensha‘s LaLa DX magazine revealed on Monday that Yuki Kure‘s Ayame-san Chi no Geshuku-nin (Ayame’s House Lodger) manga will end with its next chapter in the magazine’s next issue on December 4 (the magazine publishes a new issue every two months).

The manga’s story centers on Megumi, a high school girl who becomes the owner of an apartment complex, and she finds five handsome, quirky men as lodgers.

Kure launched the manga in LaLa DX in June 2025. Hakusensha released the manga’s first compiled book volume on April 3.

Kure launched the Kin-iro no Corda Daigakusei-hen (La Corda d’Oro College Arc) manga in LaLa DX in December 2017.

The “Multiending Arc” launched in LaLa DX in June 2021. The new arc portrays four different parallel “endings” to the original La Corda d’Oro story with Kahoko ending up with each of the four male leads of the story: Tsuchiura, Shimizu, Yunoki, and Hihara.

The “Multiending Arc” ended in 2022, and entered its “Encore Arc” in February 2023, which depicted the epilogues of each respective ending shown in the “Multiending Arc.” Hakusensha published the manga’s eighth compiled book volume in March 2024, which contains the “Encore Arc.”

Kure’s first manga adaptation of KOEI‘s original La Corda d’Oro game ended in 2011. Viz Media published the 17-volume series in North America. Kure also drew the following manga for the franchise: Linden Hall no Aria -Kin-iro no Corda Series- (Linden Hall Aria: La Corda d’Oro Series), La Corda d’Oro Blue Sky, and La Corda d’Oro 4.
