AEW President Tony Khan had nothing but praise for Jon Moxley during his media call ahead of AEW WrestleDream on October 17, calling the former world champion a great leader for the company both in and out of the ring.

The question came from Bill Bodkin of Pop Break, who asked Khan what Moxley has meant to AEW during a difficult period that has included the passings of ‘The Butcher’ Andy Williams and PAC (Benjamin Satterley).
Moxley Has Been There Since Day One
Khan reminded everyone that Moxley has been a huge part of AEW since the company’s inception in 2019. Saying he has so much respect for Moxley, Khan noted that the things Moxley has said and done behind the scenes in recent weeks have been amazing.
Moxley himself has spoken about how it felt good to go out and perform at PAC’s tribute show in September, a sentiment Khan echoed during the call. In the locker room, Moxley has reportedly been a steadying presence during one of the toughest stretches in company history.
Also On The Media Call
Khan also addressed Adam Copeland’s upcoming retirement during the media call, and commented on the rest of the stacked WrestleDream card. With the pay-per-view just days away, the AEW president struck an upbeat tone even as the company navigates a period of loss.
For Moxley, the leadership praise comes at a notable time. Just a night earlier on the October 14 edition of Dynamite/Collision, he suffered a shocking clean pinfall loss to Jake Doyle, a result that has the wrestling world buzzing about what’s next for the Death Riders’ leader.
