The countdown to the end of an era has officially begun. BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War has unveiled a brand-new “The Last” trailer teasing the anime’s final two episodes, which will close the book on Tite Kubo’s legendary shonen saga once and for all.
The fourth and final cour of the series, subtitled The Calamity, returned on July 25 and was planned for 10 episodes. The production committee took the unusual step of delaying the last two episodes to improve animation quality — a decision that already has fans bracing for an explosive finish.
Final Episodes Get Official Air Dates
The trailer’s first half serves as a stunning recap of the Thousand-Year Blood War saga, retracing the long road that brought Ichigo Kurosaki and Yhwach to their ultimate confrontation. Episode 49 will air on October 19, followed by the series finale, Episode 50, on October 26.
One day before the finale, on October 25, a special marathon screening and talk event will be held at United Cinemas Aqua City Odaiba in Japan. The guest lineup is stacked: Masakazu Morita (Ichigo Kurosaki), Noriaki Sugiyama (Uryu Ishida), original creator Tite Kubo, director Hikaru Murata, and animation producer Sadahiko Tominaga.
A Manga Giant Bows Out in Style
Created by Tite Kubo, BLEACH was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2001 to 2016, concluding with 74 volumes and over 130 million copies in circulation worldwide. The original anime ran from 2004 to 2012 and spawned four theatrical films before the franchise returned in 2022 with Thousand-Year Blood War.
Kubo has confirmed the final part includes more original material than previous cours, expanding the manga’s climactic battles beyond what readers saw on the page. With the 20-plus-year journey finally reaching its end, all eyes are on October 26.
