Remembering Fiona Lowe
Chad and his wife Kim Painter announced last month that their daughter, age 13, had died, with the cause of death determined to be suicide. The title card prefaced the episode’s credits, offering a quiet moment of remembrance as the ABC drama returned.
Lowe serves as an executive producer on the Nashville-set spinoff of the 9-1-1 franchise. His brother Rob Lowe has also spoken publicly in support, and has said he would be open to appearing on the spinoff.
A Difficult Premiere
For Lowe, the premiere marked a deeply personal night — launching a new season of a show he helps steer while grieving the loss of his daughter. The tribute stood as the show’s way of honoring Fiona as the cast and crew move forward into season two.
