Anthony Scaramucci has weighed in on the remarkably short White House tenure of Katie Zacharia, the press secretary whose stint in the job came to an end after less than a week — officially shorter than Scaramucci’s famous 10-day run as Donald Trump’s communications director in 2017.

“Records Are Made to Be Broken”
“Records are made to be broken,” Scaramucci wrote on X on October 16. “But I take no pleasure in other people’s pain.” The tongue-in-cheek remark nodded to his own place in White House lore, which Zacharia’s exit has now eclipsed.
Zacharia’s tenure ended on Friday after a debut press briefing on Tuesday that lasted just 14 minutes and was, in Sean Hannity’s words, “widely panned.” She also faced questions from Hannity and others over having labeled herself a lawyer despite not passing the California bar exam.
A New Record Set
Scaramucci’s 10 days had long been the benchmark for blink-and-you-miss-it White House stints. Zacharia’s departure in under a week resets that bar entirely — and the internet, Scaramucci included, could not resist the comparison.
