Drew McIntyre has a message for WWE fans waiting on his return: be patient, because it’s going to be worth it. The Scottish Warrior, absent from WWE since his unsanctioned match against Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42, says his comeback will be “a big deal.”

McIntyre has been busy in Hollywood, filming Highlander and The Last Druid. Speaking on Going Ringside, host Scott Johnson brought up next year’s Road to Rumble European Tour and asked whether a WWE return was on the horizon.
“Yeah, I’ll be back eventually,” McIntyre said. “WWE is my home, but at the same time, Hollywood Drew is busy right now. I’m focused on Hollywood Drew. So when I get back eventually, it’s going to be a big deal.”
Never Six Months Off — Until Now
What’s striking is just how rare a break this is for McIntyre. “I’ve never been out for six months,” he revealed. “Since I was 15, I started wrestling professionally. I’ve never had six months off in this entire time. So when I come back, I think it’s going to be a big deal for the fans. It’s going to be a big deal for me, but it’s not right now.”
The Fans And WWE Need Him
McIntyre’s tone has been nothing short of confident lately. In another recent interview, he claimed that the fans and WWE need him, not the other way around — a statement that will surely add fuel to the fire when he does walk back through the curtain.
For now, “Hollywood Drew” remains focused on his film projects. But whenever the Scottish Warrior does return, his extended absence means the pop could be one of the loudest in recent memory.
