OceanVeil to Add 19 Anime Titles from Media Blasters, Including Magical Witch Punie-chan

OceanVeil to Add 19 Anime Titles from Media Blasters, Including Magical Witch Punie-chan

Another streaming platform is betting big on classic anime. OceanVeil announced on Thursday that it is partnering with Media Blasters to bring 19 anime titles to its service over the coming weeks, with some series getting both subtitled and English-dubbed versions.

The deal is a win for fans of older, harder-to-find shows. Media Blasters has spent decades licensing cult anime for the Western market, and many of these titles have been out of print or difficult to stream legally for years. Their arrival on OceanVeil gives a new generation of viewers a chance to discover them — and gives longtime fans a legal place to rewatch.

Which Anime Are Coming to OceanVeil?

The confirmed lineup so far includes Magical Witch Punie-chan, arriving on October 19 with both sub and dub options, Amazing Nurse Nanako: Intensive Care Edition (sub and dub), Yosuga no Sora: In Solitude Where We Are Least Alone (sub), CODE-E, Eiken, and Gakuen Heaven, among others.

Some of the 19 titles do not yet have release dates, so expect OceanVeil to roll them out gradually. The platform says it will announce premiere dates title by title in the coming weeks, which means fans should keep an eye on its social channels and app notifications.

A Platform Built for Both Mature and Mainstream Anime

OceanVeil is a relatively new player in the streaming wars. WWWave Corporation launched the platform in March 2025, positioning it as a home for both mature and non-mature anime. That dual focus sets it apart from giants like Crunchyroll and HIDIVE, which skew more toward mainstream simulcasts.

The Media Blasters partnership fits that strategy neatly. Several of the incoming titles lean into adult or risqué territory, while others — like the slapstick magical-girl comedy Punie-chan — are pure fun. By mixing the two, OceanVeil is clearly trying to carve out a niche audience that other platforms have left underserved.

What This Means for Anime Fans

Licensing deals like this one are becoming more common as smaller platforms fight for subscribers. With Crunchyroll absorbing much of the Funimation catalog, there’s real hunger for the oddball, niche, and retro titles that the big services skip. OceanVeil’s bet is that classic Media Blasters shows still have a passionate audience — and honestly, it’s a fair bet.

For now, the biggest question is availability. OceanVeil hasn’t said whether all 19 titles will be available worldwide or limited to certain regions, a common frustration with licensed anime. Fans should check the platform’s regional listings as each title drops. If the rollout goes smoothly, this could be the first of many catalog deals for the young streamer.
