Before they were The Young Bucks, they were Generation Me in TNA — and according to Chris Sabin, that signing might never have happened without the Motor City Machine Guns.

In a new interview with MuscleManMalcolm, Sabin looked back on how Matt and Nick Jackson landed in TNA. The story starts at PWG, where the Guns were booked to wrestle the Bucks for the first time.

“You Have to Hire These Guys”

Impressed by what they saw in the ring, Sabin and Alex Shelley wasted no time. The following week, while still under contract with TNA, they went straight to Terry Taylor, who was running Talent Relations at the time, and lobbied hard: “You got to see these guys. You have to hire these guys.”

TNA listened. The Bucks were brought in for a tryout, they impressed, and they were signed — debuting as Generation Me and kicking off a classic rivalry with the Guns. The two teams shared the ring repeatedly, and Sabin says the chemistry was instant: it was “awesome,” and they had the best in-ring connection.

Reigniting the Feud in AEW

Now, years later, both teams share a roster once again in AEW. Sabin wants to pick up right where they left off — reignite the feud, and see if that old magic is still there. Given how many classic matches they produced in TNA, it’s a rivalry that wrote the playbook for modern tag team wrestling.
