Shiten Akiyama’s Horizon is back. The manga resumed serialization in Young King BULL magazine’s 22nd issue on Monday, the magazine’s official X account announced, marking the end of the series’ hiatus.

The series first debuted in Young King BULL in June 2025, and Shōnengahōsha published its first compiled book volume on February 16. The comeback arrives as the manga’s English-language future is already secured: Kodama Tales licensed the series and plans to release the first English volume in January 2027.
What Horizon Is About
The story follows Mieko Fujiwara, a burnt-out office worker nearing the end of her twenties. After watching a group of carefree teens and yearning for the life she once had, Mieko drunkenly puts on her old school uniform and heads to the park, hoping to recapture even a tiny bit of who she used to be. There, a chance encounter with an impossibly handsome young man changes her life forever.
It’s a premise built for readers who grew up — the manga speaks to the quiet ache of adult life and the strange urge to rewind time. That emotional core likely explains why the series has drawn attention despite being only a year into its run.
Akiyama’s Unofficial English Version Controversy
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Horizon made headlines outside Japan. Back in February, Akiyama posted an unofficially translated English version of the manga online — but revealed on X that the publisher had it taken down. The takedown raised eyebrows among fans, though it now makes sense: with Kodama Tales’ official license and a January 2027 English release on the calendar, Shōnengahōsha was simply protecting the legitimate release.
With serialization back on track and an English edition confirmed, Horizon looks positioned for a bigger international audience in 2027.
