The TWICE leader reflected on a journey that began when she was just a child, writing that she had spent most of her life at JYP, from childhood through her teenage years and into adulthood. She expressed sincere gratitude to everyone at the agency who stood by her and helped her grow, adding that every moment — good and difficult alike — shaped who she is today.
What EMITHAUS Means for Jihyo’s Future
The singer explained that she sees independence not as a conclusion to the past but as a choice about how she wants to live going forward. Drawing on the meaning of the word “emit” — to express or release — she said she hopes EMITHAUS will be a place where she can freely explore possibilities within herself she has yet to discover. She promised to approach every decision with greater thoughtfulness and responsibility as she steps away from the familiar environment.
In a reassurance sure to comfort ONCE, Jihyo made it clear that leaving JYP does not mean leaving TWICE. She called the group an irreplaceable part of her life and said she looks forward to the moments still ahead, vowing to continue standing on stage with her members and building more memories together for many years to come.
Third TWICE Member to Go Independent
Jihyo is the third TWICE member to officially leave JYP Entertainment, following Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung. She closed her letter by thanking ONCE for 11 years of unwavering trust, love, and support, promising to keep growing as an artist worthy of the love she has received.
