Dax Harwood is not mincing words about FTR’s rivalry with The New Level. Speaking about the newly debuted AEW team of Austin Creed and Kofi, Harwood said he looks forward to them testing themselves against what he calls the greatest tag team of all time — himself and Cash Wheeler.

The New Level made their All Elite Wrestling debuts at AEW All In 2026, teaming with Swerve Strickland to win the Trios Championships. Later that same night, the pair shared the ring with some of AEW’s top tag teams in a standoff segment — a moment that immediately signalled big plans for the duo in the tag division.
Dax Harwood on FTR’s Checkered Past With The New Level
Speaking to the Danny Ocean Show and 3NT Wrestling, Harwood leaned into the history between the two teams. “Of course. Any match that is a big money match for me at this stage in my career is a match I’m looking forward to,” he said. “The New Level, we have a checkered past with that team, with those guys. We had a pretty memorable debut against those guys and a bunch of different kind of matches. Even one of my favorite matches of all time was the ladder match we had with those guys.”
That history gives a potential FTR vs. New Level programme instant credibility. These are not strangers meeting for the first time — they are two teams with a shared past, now colliding again on a much bigger stage in 2026.
FTR Claim Tag Team Supremacy in 2026
Harwood was blunt about where he believes the teams stand today. “But this is 2026, seven years later. FTR has established themselves as the greatest tag team in the world, and at one time, (The) New Level was the greatest tag team in the world, and now they can be happy to sit at number two,” he said. “Because right now, tag team wrestling is where myself and Cash, we reign supreme, and they’re coming into our world, and I look forward to them testing themselves against the greatest of all time.”
It is classic Harwood — confident, confrontational and built to sell a match. Whether The New Level accept that number-two ranking is another matter entirely, and that tension is exactly what makes this rivalry one to watch as AEW’s tag division heats up.
