The main event brought together three champions: Iwatani, the Superfly Champion, against Victoria Yuzuki, the United National Champion, and Miku Aono, the Marigold World Champion. With all three titles effectively on the line in one match, the stakes could hardly have been higher.
Mayu Iwatani Wins Marigold Triple Crown at Grand Destiny 2026
Iwatani secured the victory by hitting Yuzuki with a Dragon Suplex into a pin, claiming the Triple Crown in front of the Ryōgoku crowd. The win caps a remarkable run since she joined Marigold, after leaving STARDOM in early 2025 and signing with the promotion that May.
After the match, Iwatani reflected on the physical toll of the bout and the significance of the moment, noting that it was her first time winning a singles triple crown — a milestone even for a wrestler with her decorated history.
What Iwatani’s Triple Crown Win Means for Marigold
For Marigold, crowning Iwatani as Triple Crown Champion puts its top prize on one of the most respected names in Japanese women’s wrestling. Her journey from STARDOM to Marigold has been one of the biggest stories in joshi wrestling over the past two years, and this victory cements her place at the very top of the promotion.
The three-way format also leaves plenty of unfinished business. Both Yuzuki and Aono entered the match as champions in their own right, and neither was pinned in the finish — a detail that could easily set up the next chapter in Marigold’s title picture. For now, though, the night belongs to Iwatani and her historic first singles triple crown.
