Ric Flair says he no longer owns his own Facebook page — but the page itself is raising questions. The WWE Hall of Famer blasted the people behind the account for posting while he was hospitalized, calling their behavior “reckless” and “inappropriate.” There is just one problem: the very same page also shared his latest health update.
Flair, 77, was rushed to hospital on October 23 after a fall outside a Tampa restaurant left him with cuts around his head and eye — just hours after he revealed he was dealing with a blood clot in his leg. On October 24, he broke his silence with a photo of himself wearing a bandage over his injured right eye, thanking the doctors at Tampa General Hospital.
Ric Flair Says He No Longer Owns His Facebook Page
His message then took an unexpected turn. “And Just So You Know For Those Who Were Asking And Wondering, I Don’t Own My Own Facebook Page Anymore. I Apologize For The Reckless Posting Behavior On My Facebook When I Was In The Hospital. It Was Completely Inappropriate!” Flair wrote.
He did not say exactly which posts upset him. But a look at his verified Facebook page shows what was going out while he was dealing with the medical emergency: wrestling clips, throwback photos and promotional content, including an old clip captioned “Only true champions can carry the gold! WOOOOOO!” and a throwback photo of Flair in a pink robe.
On their own, the posts are standard nostalgic Flair content. The issue is timing — they kept publishing while he was in hospital with facial injuries. It is entirely possible they were scheduled in advance and simply kept going without anyone stopping them. There is no confirmation of who uploaded them, or whether whoever manages the account knew what was happening with Flair at the time.
Why Flair’s Facebook Claim Does Not Quite Add Up
Here is the confusing part: despite Flair saying he no longer owns the page, the account also shared the same health update that appeared on his official X and Instagram accounts. That raises an obvious question — how did his personal statement end up on a page he claims is not his?
Owning a page and having access to publish on it are two different things, of course. Flair could still have some involvement, or whoever manages the account could simply be sharing his statements across platforms. The matching post does not prove Flair personally has access, but it does suggest someone handling the Facebook page is still distributing his official updates.
Flair has not explained whether he lost administrative control, transferred ownership, or simply handed the page to someone else to manage — nor has he identified who was behind the posts he found inappropriate. He has assured fans he will be okay and is focused on recovering. The Facebook mystery, though, remains unanswered.
