The world of EAT-MAN is expanding again. The official X account for EAT-MAN The Over Order, the new anime project based on Akihito Yoshitomi‘s classic manga, has announced that Yoshitomi himself will launch a spinoff manga tied to the upcoming anime.
The new series is titled Desert-Dessert From EAT-MAN The Over Order, and it will debut in the January 2027 issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine on November 26. The announcement gives fans of the long-running franchise something fresh to look forward to ahead of the anime’s arrival.

What Is Desert-Dessert From EAT-MAN The Over Order?
Desert-Dessert is a spinoff manga adaptation of the new EAT-MAN The Over Order anime, created by original manga author Akihito Yoshitomi. Rather than simply retelling the anime, the spinoff extends the franchise’s universe in print, giving readers a new way into the story of Bolt Crank and his strange, unforgettable ability.
For longtime readers, the news is a welcome return. Yoshitomi’s original Eat-Man manga ran from 1996 to 2002, and its hero, Bolt Crank, remains one of manga’s most unusual protagonists: a man who can eat anything and then reproduce it in his right hand. That bizarre power drove the original series’ mix of action, mystery and dark humour, and it is the hook that has kept the franchise alive across decades.
The New EAT-MAN The Over Order Anime Team
The spinoff arrives alongside a new anime that already has a strong creative team behind it. Shunji Oga is directing the project at Studio Cab, while Yoshitomi himself is handling scripts and original designs. Satoshi Hirayama is adapting Yoshitomi’s character designs for animation.
There is continuity in the cast too. Masashi Ebara returns as protagonist Bolt Crank, having voiced the character in the two previous anime adaptations. Those earlier series aired in 1997 and 1998, and both later found new audiences through DVD releases and streaming on Crunchyroll.
Yoshitomi has stayed close to the franchise in the years since. He launched the follow-up manga Eat-Man The Main Dish in Monthly Shonen Sirius in May 2014, and that six-volume run wrapped up in 2019. The new anime and its spinoff manga mark the next chapter for a series that has refused to fade away.
With Desert-Dessert launching on November 26, fans will not have long to wait for a fresh taste of Bolt Crank’s world, even before the new anime itself hits screens.
