kiDnap GAME Lee Joon Gi murder mission dilemma
kiDnap GAME centres on an unprecedented kidnapping case unfolding simultaneously across seven Asian cities: Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, Naha, and Manila. Seven individuals are each handed different missions and forced into a deadly survival game, where they must complete their assignments before anyone else to save their loved ones — and survive themselves.
Han Ki Joo, played by Lee Joon Gi, is a doctor haunted by guilt. A failed brain tumour surgery left his daughter, Han Ri An (Choi So Yul), blind, and his own negligence later led to her kidnapping. Consumed by self-blame, he has resolved to save her at any cost — a vow that now collides with the game’s cruellest demand.
The newly released stills capture that collision in quiet, unsettling detail. In a dark hospital, Han Ki Joo takes out a bottle of medication and falls into deep thought. Later, he is seen roaming the streets late at night, searching for his target with a chilling gaze — yet the uncertainty in his eyes betrays his inner hesitation. He is not a man who has decided; he is a man who is still fighting himself.
Why Han Ki Joo’s choice matters in kiDnap GAME
The dilemma is deliberately cruel. As a doctor, Han Ki Joo’s calling is to save lives. To rescue the daughter who has always been proud of him, the game asks him to abandon that calling and become a killer. Saving one life would mean taking another — and living with the knowledge that he crossed a line he can never uncross.
That tension is what makes the character so compelling. Lee Joon Gi has long excelled at playing men caught between duty and desperation, and Han Ki Joo fits that mould perfectly: a father whose guilt already weighs on him, now handed a choice where every option carries a cost. If he refuses, he risks losing his daughter. If he obeys, he risks losing himself.
The stakes are tightening across the whole game, too. With just seven days remaining until the game ends, only five participants are still alive. As the time limit closes in, alliances, suspicions, and survival instincts are all set to sharpen — and every decision Han Ki Joo makes could ripple out to the remaining players.
When does the next kiDnap GAME episode air?
The next episode of kiDnap GAME airs on October 27 at 10 p.m. KST. Viewers will finally learn whether Han Ki Joo carries out his mission or chooses to remain true to his conscience — and what either choice costs him and his daughter.
For a thriller built on moral traps, this is the episode the whole premise has been building towards: not just who survives the game, but what kind of person survives it.
