The production, directed by Tony winner Zhailon Levingston, will play the Newman Mills Theater at the Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space. Performances begin on January 9, 2027, with the official opening set for January 25.
Real Housewives Rumors Revival Features Two Rotating Casts
The revival will feature two wholly separate casts. From January 9 through February 28, the stage will feature Lisa Rinna as Chris, Phaedra Parks as Claire, Stacey Rusch as Cookie, and Dolores Catania as Cassie.
From March 2 through April 21, a second cast takes over, with Cynthia Bailey as Chris, Eileen Davidson as Claire, Carole Radziwill as Cookie, and Candiace Dillard-Bassett as Cassie. Further casting is still to be announced.
For all but Rinna, the production marks a New York stage debut. Rinna previously appeared on Broadway as Roxie Hart in “Chicago” and will soon appear in the upcoming “It’s a Wonderful Life” revival.
What Is Neil Simon’s Rumors About?
Originally premiering in 1988, “Rumors” is a farce centered on wealthy couples drawn into an elaborate cover-up at the tenth wedding anniversary party of New York City Deputy Mayor Charley Brock, whose wife is missing.
Levingston said reimagining the play through the lens of The Real Housewives felt natural, explaining that without changing a single word of Simon’s text, the production reveals “the delicious chaos that unfolds when private lives become public spectacle.”
Tickets go on sale for American Express members at RumorsPlay.com, with a TodayTix pre-sale beginning October 29 and general sales opening October 30 at 10 AM ET.
