Bandai Card Games has opened pre-registration for Digimon Alysion, its upcoming smartphone card game, with a brand-new trailer revealed on Thursday. The free-to-play battler is slated for a 2026 release across 49 countries and regions, giving Digimon fans a firm date window to look forward to after more than a year of teasers.
Digimon Alysion Pre-Registration Opens in 49 Countries
Pre-registration is now live in 49 countries and regions, letting players sign up ahead of launch and secure any early rewards Bandai Card Games may attach to the sign-up campaign. The announcement arrived alongside a fresh trailer showing off the game’s card battles and its digital arena, the first major update since applications for a closed beta test opened back in August last year.
Digimon Alysion is a free-to-play title built around online card battles, putting it in direct conversation with the long-running physical Digimon Card Game while carving out its own digital identity. The project was first announced during Digimon Con in March 2025, and it has been steadily building toward release ever since.
An Original Story in the Digimon Liberator World
One of the game’s biggest draws is its original story, which takes place in the same world as Digimon Liberator, the vertical-scrolling webcomic that launched in April 2024. That shared setting should give longtime followers familiar touchstones while offering newcomers a self-contained story to jump into without needing to know decades of Digimon lore.
The timing also lines up with a busy period for the franchise. Digimon Story Time Stranger launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in October 2025, with Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions arriving on July 10, the Switch 2 edition adding improved graphics plus performance and quality modes. Meanwhile, Bandai Namco Entertainment launched Digimon UP, a mobile game built around the idea of a Digimon journey that moves with your life, on July 15.
With pre-registration now open, Digimon Alysion looks set to become the franchise’s next major mobile push, and its 2026 launch window means fans will not have to wait long to shuffle up.
