Phantom Blade Zero is already a hit before it has even launched, with estimates suggesting the action game has sold more than 1 million copies ahead of release. The numbers point to a breakout launch for the wuxia title from Chinese studio S-Game, and to a huge appetite for its stylish, high-speed combat.

Phantom Blade Zero Prelaunch Sales Pass 1 Million Copies
The estimate comes from Rhys Elliott, head of market analysis at Alinea Analytics, who shared the figures on social media. Elliott estimated that Phantom Blade Zero has sold around 850,000 prelaunch copies on Western launch platforms Steam and PS5, with sales on Tencent’s WeGame store in China pushing the total above one million.
That split tells its own story. Of the Western prelaunch sales, roughly three quarters came through Steam, underlining how important PC players are to the game’s early success. Nearly two thirds of total prelaunch sales are estimated to come from China, Taiwan or Hong Kong, showing just how strongly the game has connected with audiences in its home region.
Why Phantom Blade Zero Is Already A Breakout Hit
Phantom Blade Zero is a wuxia action game, drawing on Chinese martial arts fantasy for its world, weapons and movement. Trailers showing fast, fluid swordplay and dramatic boss encounters have built steady hype since the game’s reveal, and strong preorder numbers now suggest that excitement is turning into real sales.
It is worth noting that these are analyst estimates, not official sales figures from S-Game, so the final tally could shift. But crossing an estimated one million copies before launch is a rare feat for any new action game, and it sets Phantom Blade Zero up for one of the biggest debuts of the year when it finally arrives.
