The new artwork puts Tesfia front and center, continuing the series’ steady rollout of character visuals as the 2027 debut draws closer. Previous reveals have introduced other members of the cast, building anticipation for the light novel adaptation.

What Is The Greatest Magicmaster’s Retirement Plan About?
The anime adapts the light novel series written and illustrated by Ruria Miyuki, published under Hobby Japan’s HJ Bunko label. The series has already reached 20 volumes, and a manga adaptation by Karu Yoneshiro, titled The Greatest Magicmaster’s Retirement Plan: The Alternative, is also running.
The story follows Alus Reigin, a 16-year-old prodigy who has defeated more Fiends and reclaimed more lost territory than anyone else alive. When he requests retirement from military service, fate has other plans: as the nation’s No. 1 Magicmaster out of more than 100,000, he ends up enrolled at a special magical institute, hiding his identity while training his successors — a pair of talented Magicmaster girls — and secretly continuing to take down Fiends.
J-Novel Club publishes the light novel in English, so international fans can already dive into Alus’s story before the anime arrives in 2027.
