Paul underwent multiple surgeries on his jaw following the Joshua defeat, making the December 24 date a genuine comeback story. In a press release, the YouTuber-turned-boxer framed the Dubai bout as the start of a new chapter.
“I’ve spent years proving people wrong, taking risks, and pushing myself against opponents nobody thought I’d face,” Paul said. “Nothing that’s happened has changed my belief in myself or what I’m working toward. I’m hungrier than ever, and on Thursday, December 24, I’m returning to the ring in Dubai to start the next chapter of my journey.”

MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian added that the team is “finalizing an opponent worthy of Jake’s return” and will share more in the coming weeks. That means fans have roughly eight weeks of speculation ahead — expect the rumor mill to work overtime.
