Cody Rhodes has made a bold claim about one of WWE’s biggest stars. Speaking on the Double Coverage Podcast with host Zach Hirsch, Rhodes said Bianca Belair “is maybe WWE’s greatest athlete ever” — high praise for a performer who hasn’t wrestled since WrestleMania 41.

Why Cody Rhodes Thinks Bianca Belair Is WWE’s Greatest Athlete Ever
The conversation started with a discussion of the strongest wrestlers Rhodes has ever shared the ring with, touching on powerhouse builds like Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns — “defensive tackle builds that run like four eights,” as Hirsch put it, physiques that “shouldn’t be possible.” Rhodes agreed, then pivoted to Belair, calling her a one-of-one athlete.
Belair has long been regarded as one of the most athletically gifted talents to ever come through WWE, known for feats like hoisting opponents over her head and her explosive in-ring style. Rhodes’ comments frame her not just as an elite women’s wrestler, but as an athlete who stacks up against anyone in the sport’s history.
The timing is notable: Belair has been away from the ring since WrestleMania 41, where she publicly announced her pregnancy during an appearance at this year’s WrestleMania. Rhodes also touched on WWE’s modern scouting — the tryouts and NIL programs finding performers with “defensive tackle type builds” — noting that pro wrestling can make room for everything from introverted artists like Mick Foley to once-in-a-generation athletes like Belair.
What This Means for Bianca Belair’s WWE Return
While there’s no timeline for Belair’s return, praise like this from the face of the company keeps the spotlight on her comeback. Whether she returns to reclaim championships or step into a new role, Rhodes’ comments make one thing clear: when Bianca Belair walks back through the curtain, she’ll do so as arguably the most gifted athlete in WWE history.
