HYBE Faces Racism Backlash After SANTOS BRAVOS’ Kauê Missing From Anniversary Animation

What Happened With Kauê and the SANTOS BRAVOS Anniversary Animation

An animation shared for the group’s 1st anniversary showcase livestream appeared to be missing the archetype representing Kauê, one of the group’s Black members. Fans noticed immediately, and a fanbase account posted: “HYBE Americas, HYBE Latin America, TRU Records, SANTOS BRAVOS, we demand equitable and equal treatment for all members of SANTOS BRAVOS.”

Netizens linked the omission to the case of KATSEYE’s Manon, whose hiatus announcement seemingly suggested she had been subjected to poor treatment due to her race. Comments flooded in calling it the “Manon treatment,” with fans pointing to a pattern in how HYBE handles its Black artists. The hashtag #HybeRESPECTKauê began circulating as fans demanded answers.

HYBE’s History of Racism Accusations

This is far from the first time HYBE has faced racism allegations. The company has received multiple such accusations over its history, with Manon’s case being the most widely known. With Kauê’s omission from the anniversary animation, fans argue the pattern is repeating — and they are demanding the company treat all SANTOS BRAVOS members equally.

As of now, HYBE has not issued a public response to the accusations.
