Jeff Cobb and Chihiro Hashimoto Team Up at NJPW Bound for Unbound
The announcement came after Hashimoto successfully defended her wXw Women’s Championship against Anita Vaughan at a Sendai Girls’ Pro-Wrestling event. Fresh off the title defence, she revealed she’ll be in action for New Japan Pro-Wrestling — teaming with Olympic wrestler Jeff Cobb against Takagi and Natsupoi.
The match pairs two of the heaviest hitters in Japanese wrestling against a real-life married couple. Cobb brings raw power while Hashimoto, one of Sendai Girls’ top stars, adds stiff, heavyweight-style offence. On the other side, Shingo Takagi and Natsupoi fight as a unit — a husband-and-wife team with something to prove.
Bound for Unbound: Unbound Co.’s Showcase Event
The November 20 show is being presented by New Japan’s Unbound Co. faction, led by IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji. Both Cobb and Takagi are part of Unbound Co., making this an intra-faction tag clash with an outside X-factor in Hashimoto.
Bound for Unbound runs ahead of the road to Wrestle Kingdom 21 in January — and a statement win here could put any of these four on the map for the Tokyo Dome.
