Shawn Michaels on Cruz Montana’s NXT to Raw Leap
Michaels took to social media after Raw went off the air, touting NXT’s recent track record of producing main-roster talent alongside the congratulations:
“Another one moving on up! Congratulations to @Montana_NYPR on making the jump to the main roster! That’s 19 NXT Superstars making the leap to Raw and SmackDown in the last 12 months. Pretty proud of that number, but even prouder of the talent and crew who make it happen.”
Michaels also pointed fans toward the future of the brand: “See the future of WWE this week on Wednesday night at 8/7c on @TheCW and the @espn Unlimited app.”
Why Cruz Montana’s Debut Matters
Montana’s debut closes the book on his NXT run and immediately ties him to The 946 faction on Raw — a significant placement for a fresh call-up. With Michaels publicly putting his weight behind the move, WWE’s NXT-to-main-roster pipeline now stands at 19 promotions in a single year, a number the Heartbreak Kid clearly views as a badge of honor for the developmental system.
