Yūki Wakai, Toshiyuki Morikawa, Tetsu Inada, Daiki Hamano and Riona Imaizumi are joining The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World II from episode 5, which airs this Thursday, November 5. The staff announced the five new cast members on Tuesday, with character name romanizations still to be confirmed.
The announcement came via the anime’s official X account, with a visual showing all five actors’ new characters from left to right. Episode 5 airs on TBS at 1:23 a.m. and on BS11 at 11:00 p.m. Japan time, streaming worldwide on Crunchyroll as it airs.
The Iceblade Sorcerer Season 2 Episode 5 New Cast
The new additions bring veteran talent to the fantasy series, including Toshiyuki Morikawa, one of the most recognizable voices in anime. The casting lands just as the second season hits its midpoint, with at least 12 episodes planned for the run.
They join a season already stacked with new faces, including Miyu Kubota as Elisa Griffith — replacing the retired Nana Harumura — plus Sōichirō Hoshi as Lucas Forst, Haruka Shiraishi as Lizelotte Eden, Ryōhei Kimura as Julius Orphe, Aoi Koga as Bianca Miller and Konomi Kohara as Emma Clarke.
Staff, Studio Change and Theme Songs
The second season brings a major production shift: Zero-G is animating the series, taking over from Cloud Hearts, which produced season 1. Masahiro Takata returns as director while also handling series composition, scripts and sound direction. Tomoko Shinozuka and Takahito Ōnishi are also writing scripts, and Mariko Kawamoto takes over as character designer.
Sizuk performs the opening theme song “Diamond Dust,” while Maaya Uchida performs the ending theme “Compression :[.” The second season premiered October 8, continuing Nana Mikoshiba’s story of Ray White, the legendary Iceblade Sorcerer hiding in plain sight at Arnold Academy of Magic.
