The Detective Is Already Dead Season 2 English Dub Cast Revealed, Debuts Wednesday

Crunchyroll is wasting no time on the English dub front — the streamer has revealed the cast and staff for the English dub of The Detective Is Already Dead Season 2, with the dubbed first episode premiering this Wednesday. The announcement landed on Monday, keeping the dub hot on the heels of the Japanese broadcast.

Season 2 Returns After a Long Wait

The second season of the anime adaptation of Nigojū and Umibōzu’s light novel series finally premiered in Japan on October 7, and Crunchyroll is streaming it as it airs. The sequel was first announced way back in July 2022, with Kadokawa originally targeting a July premiere before delaying it to October.

Behind the scenes, Manabu Kurihara returns to direct the season at ENGI, with Deko Akao again handling series scripts and Yōsuke Itō designing the characters. Music comes from 40mP, who is composing the score as well as writing, arranging and composing the theme songs — Kōme performs the opening “Kono Shinzō ni Hanabata wo” (A Bouquet for This Heart), while Kagura Nana returns for the ending “Hakuchumu” (Daydreams).

More Anime Music Videos Land on Crunchyroll

Alongside the dub news, Crunchyroll expanded its music hub on Monday with fresh anime music videos, including the theme songs for Daemons of the Shadow Realm, Draw This, Then Die!, and Hana-Kimi season 2. Videos from BURNOUT SYNDROMES — including Haikyu!! tracks — plus clips from Centimillimental, milet, NiziU, PEOPLE1 and more also joined the lineup.

Crunchyroll launched its music and content hub with Sony Music Entertainment Japan content back in 2023, and it keeps growing.
