Bandido has named his two dream singles opponents in AEW — and one of them is the company’s newest high-profile signing. Speaking to Good Karma Wrestling in a new interview, the masked luchador said he wants matches with Kenny Omega and Ilja Dragunov.
Since signing with All Elite Wrestling, Bandido has already tested himself against some of the promotion’s best, squaring off with the likes of MJF and Andrade El Idolo. But asked about his top dream matches, he went straight to the big names.
Omega and Dragunov on the Wishlist
“Well, I always say Kenny Omega will be one of my biggest top names,” Bandido said, making the former AEW World Champion his long-standing first choice. But he also pointed to the new arrival: “Now I share a time with the new guy who came to the company… in the past in PWG. His name is Ilja Dragunov. So probably that would be good for me to have singles with him. Yeah, I would love to have singles with him too.”
Dragunov’s move to AEW is the bigger story underneath the quote — the former WWE/NXT star has only just arrived, and top-of-card talents are already lining up to be among his first opponents. A Bandido vs. Dragunov clash would pit two of the most explosive in-ring performers in the business against each other, while Omega vs. Bandido is a speed-and-creativity dream match fans have fantasized about for years.
Bandido remains one of AEW’s most consistently thrilling performers, recently holding the World Trios Titles with Brody King and Hangman Page after their WrestleDream win. If AEW can make even one of these dream matches happen, it’s a guaranteed show-stealer.
