Paul Walter Hauser Leaves MLW Over Creative Differences
“With a heavy heart, but a clear mind, I said goodbye to the MLW family late last week,” Hauser wrote. “Before speculation or conjecture try to rear their ugly, and needless, head — my decision was simply rooted in creative differences. The truest, and least sexy, answer.”
Hauser thanked MLW owner Court Bauer, who brought him in starting at Battle Riot 6, and credited the locker room for teaching him the craft. He singled out Tom Lawlor, Minoru Suzuki, and Trevor Lee for their generosity, and name-checked his favorite moments: diving off a ladder at Battle Riot, turning on his former tag partner Paul London, and even bringing empanadas to bolster catering.
What’s Next for Paul Walter Hauser After MLW?
Hauser made his MLW debut in 2024 against Tom Lawlor and last competed at the Fusion tapings in September. He closed his message with a warning: “If anyone cares to bad mouth me and or rewrite my contributions to MLW, I have receipts and I have friends in high places.”
Hauser also pitched himself as a value-add to MLW’s culture, from landing MLW coverage in the Wall Street Journal and on Jimmy Kimmel Live to directing backstage segments. Whether he lands in AEW, WWE, or sticks to Hollywood, his exit leaves MLW without one of its most recognizable crossover stars.
