The official X (formerly Twitter) account for author Keigo Shinzou announced on Monday that the Hirayasumi manga will end in two more chapters.
Shinzou began drawing the manga in Big Comic Spirits in April 2021. Shogakukan published the tenth volume on April 30.
VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in October 2023, with the latest ninth volume released on May 19.
Hirayasumi was nominated for the 15th and 17th Manga Taisho. The manga also placed among the top 20 titles in the male readers category in the 2023 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings and MyAnimeList’s 2024 edition of You Should Read This Manga. The series won the 71st Shogakukan Manga Award in 2026.
A television anime adaptation produced by Production +h. is scheduled to premiere in January 2027.
Synopsis
Living in Asagaya, 29-year-old Hiroto Ikuta spends his days working at his part-time job and chatting with the locals. He likes visiting Hanae Wada most, a grumpy yet kind elderly woman whom Hiroto calls “Granny.” Hiroto’s time with Granny is sadly cut short when she passes away from a heart attack. To his surprise, Hiroto inherits Granny’s house as she never married or had children.
Three months later, 18-year-old Natsumi Kobayashi moves from her hometown to attend art school. With nowhere else to go, she stays with her cousin Hiroto, whom she has not seen in years. Despite their opposing personalities, the pair begin living under the same roof as they struggle through their seemingly mundane lives. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

The manga’s story centers on Megumi, a high school girl who becomes the owner of an apartment complex, and she finds five handsome, quirky men as lodgers.

Kure launched the Kin-iro no Corda Daigakusei-hen (La Corda d’Oro College Arc) manga in LaLa DX in December 2017.
