Ji Chang Wook is learning the hard way that country life isn’t for the faint of heart. Newly released stills from the upcoming episode of “Merry Berry Love” show his character trading tailored suits for a straw hat — and struggling every step of the way.

The romantic comedy stars Ji Chang Wook as Lee Yu Bin, a Korean spatial designer who had it all until betrayal cost him everything overnight. Desperate to rebuild, he heads to a Japanese island chasing one last opportunity, where he crosses paths with Shirahama Karin (Imada Mio), a young woman who has devoted her life to growing strawberries.
From Top Designer to Suspected Strawberry Thief
The first episode charted Yu Bin’s brutal fall from one of the industry’s top designers to suddenly unemployed after a friend’s betrayal. His fresh start got off to an awkward beginning when Karin mistook him for a strawberry thief on arrival — not exactly the first impression he was hoping for.
The new stills capture both sides of his rural reinvention. In one, Yu Bin looks every bit the cheerful farmhand in a casual T-shirt and straw hat, flashing a confident thumbs-up like a man ready to conquer anything. In another, the reality sets in: soaked in sweat and weighed down by a massive rucksack, he looks utterly exhausted — a city dweller who has never done a day of manual labor in his life.
What to Expect in Episode 2
According to the production team, Episode 2 will show Yu Bin fully beginning his new life after losing everything, while his relationship with Karin — which started with that misunderstanding — enters a brand-new phase. Viewers will also learn what exactly drove Yu Bin to take a job as a farmhand, and how the strawberry farm romance between the two continues to develop.
“Please look forward to discovering what led Yu Bin to take on a job as a farmhand and what other events will unfold between him and Karin,” the team teased.
The next episode of “Merry Berry Love” arrives on October 14.
