Barry Sloane, the voice and face behind Captain Price, has a message for Call of Duty fans: thank you. As early reactions to Modern Warfare 4’s campaign flood social media with praise, the actor took a moment to acknowledge the “kind words” rolling in.

The first 24 hours of early access have been dominated by glowing player impressions. Fans online are calling the story mode one of the more “brutal” and “intense” campaigns the series has ever produced, with many arguing it stands shoulder to shoulder with classics like the original Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops.
Critics agree the reboot saga is going out strong. IGN awarded the campaign an 8/10, saying it made their reviewer “feel something for the series again” and sent the Modern Warfare storyline out “on a high note.” Steam reviews are sitting at “Very Positive,” with one player calling it “a 10/10” and admitting they “damn near almost cried at the end.”
Sloane Responds — And Asks For No Spoilers
Sloane’s performance as the Task Force 141 leader has been singled out repeatedly, and he took to social media to respond. “Thank you for all the kind words,” he said. “I see them. I read them. And I am grateful.”
But the actor also used the moment to make a request: keep the spoilers in check. With Infinity Ward taking big swings to close out the Modern Warfare storyline in the 2026 release, untagged spoilers are already spreading across feeds. Sloane asked fans to hold back their unfiltered reactions for now so others can experience the ending fresh.
A Finale Worth Playing
Modern Warfare 4 marks the end of this era of the reboot saga for Infinity Ward and Activision — and by the early verdicts, the developers swung for the fences. With the full launch still ahead, the campaign’s warm reception is exactly the send-off the series needed.
