There is finally some encouraging news about Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo after a terrifying injury at a WWE NXT live event left him stretchered out of the arena and rushed to the hospital.

The scare came during the October 16 NXT house show in Sudbury, Ontario, where Stacks teamed with Charlie Dempsey, Lexis King and Uriah Connors against Tony D’Angelo, Tavion Heights, Shiloh Hill and Shawn Spears. (Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo / WWE / Ringside News)

The Injury and the Aftermath

Things took a frightening turn when Stacks took a back body drop over the top rope and crashed onto the arena floor. Medical staff rushed in immediately, and the wrestler was placed on a stretcher and transported to a nearby hospital. WWE stopped the match entirely.

Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez confirmed the hospital transport, while Dave Meltzer noted there were concerns Stacks may have suffered a concussion.

Shawn Spears addressed the shaken crowd afterward: “Thank you for coming out tonight. Unfortunately things happen in this ring that are unexpected… When something serious such as this takes place it’s not easy.” The show still ended on a wild note — with the match halted, BirthRight attacked the opposing team, sparking a brawl that ended with Uriah Connors being put through a table.

Positive Update

The good news arrived on Saturday, October 17, when Connors took to social media to reassure fans: “My boy’s alive and well!! We can’t be stopped, last of a dying breed!”

That said, no official diagnosis has been released, and WWE has yet to comment publicly on Stacks’ status. Here’s hoping the young star is back on his feet soon.
