If you’ve been waiting for a flagship gaming laptop to drop in price, today is your moment. For today only, Best Buy is knocking $580 off the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 RTX 5090, bringing it down to $3,819 with free shipping. This is one of the most powerful gaming laptops money can buy — and it’s on sale.

Don’t let the slim profile fool you. The Zephyrus G16 measures just 0.59 inches thin and weighs only 4.3 pounds, with a CNC-milled aluminum shell and a huge glass touchpad. Yet it packs the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 mobile GPU — the most powerful laptop GPU available — running at a reduced 120W TGP to keep thermals in check while still pushing any game past 60fps on its 2.5K display.
Flagship Specs, Featherweight Build
The rest of the hardware is equally serious: an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H 16-core CPU hitting 5.4GHz, 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 2TB SSD. The gorgeous 16-inch ROG Nebula OLED display delivers 2.5K resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, 0.2ms response time, and G-Sync support — specs you can actually put to use with a 5090 inside.
With 24GB of VRAM (matching the desktop 4090), this machine doubles as a serious mobile AI workstation, and with DLSS 4.5 support, ray tracing is genuinely playable.
Should You Buy It?
At $3,819, this is still a premium purchase — but it’s a rare discount on a machine that rarely goes on sale. If you want desktop-class performance you can actually carry, this is one of the best laptop deals of the year. Just remember: the offer ends today.
