AEW star Will Ospreay isn’t tired of getting WWE questions in interviews — he just knows exactly where his focus belongs. Speaking to Brandon Kravitz in a new interview, Ospreay addressed the constant discourse around AEW talent being asked about WWE, and his answer was characteristically blunt.

“Oh, it’s — I just — I know it’s a part of the gig. Like, people always asking, like, I can only give my opinion. I don’t really care about it,” Ospreay said. “Like, it’s just I’d rather focus on AEW and I’d rather focus on, like, what we’re able to do here.”
Ospreay Believes AEW Is Changing Wrestling
Ospreay has taken plenty of flak over the past couple of years for his comments about WWE in interviews, but he made his loyalties crystal clear. “What I believe AEW is changing the face of professional wrestling, and I love what we present. I love what we do. I love our wrestling. I love everything that we’re all about. So, like, I couldn’t really care less about any other promotion.”
The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion has become one of AEW’s centerpiece stars since signing, delivering match-of-the-year contenders with remarkable consistency. His outspoken defense of the company has made him a lightning rod in the never-ending AEW-vs-WWE fan discourse.
“Part of the Gig”
Rather than snapping at the questions, Ospreay framed them as an unavoidable part of being a top star in 2026. Every major AEW interview inevitably circles back to WWE — and Ospreay accepts it, even if he’d rather spend the time hyping what he sees as the best wrestling product on the planet.
