The ex-wife of a former K-pop idol has opened up about the physical toll of raising her child alone, revealing that years of working nonstop as a single mom have left her body breaking down — and she can’t afford to rest.

In a video posted on October 19th titled “Achieving the Highest Sales in Shopping Live Thanks to Our Subscribers,” Ji Yeon Soo shared a worrying update on her health. “I am receiving manual therapy. It’s not just my shoulder that’s torn; even my leg is stuck,” she said, adding that her legs, neck, and back have all reached a level requiring comprehensive hospital care.
“How Can I Rest?”
Ji Yeon Soo admitted she has been pushing herself without a break for years. “I’ve been working continuously without rest for years, and my body just can’t keep up. I think this might be true for everyone,” she said.
When the production team urged her to rest, she responded with the reality of her situation: “But how can I rest? What can I rely on to rest?” The team recommended a health checkup, but she noted she hadn’t had one since her modeling days, years ago.
From Part-Time Jobs to Torn Muscles
Earlier, Ji Yeon Soo had confessed to serious financial struggles, revealing on her YouTube channel that she was quietly working part-time at a beef soup restaurant — without telling anyone she was a broadcaster — to cover living and childcare expenses. She recently had to quit that job after an injury to her right arm left her muscles “completely torn,” with doctors telling her she shouldn’t be working at all.
Ji Yeon Soo married former U-KISS member Eli in 2014, and the couple had a son named Min Soo before divorcing in 2020. She has been raising her son alone ever since, while Eli has recently made headlines over remarriage news and a child support controversy.
