Sylvester Stallone is ready to embrace AI — and he doesn’t care who has a problem with it. During an interview on “The Overlap” podcast, the Oscar winner said he received backlash for trying to get a “half human, half AI” movie off the ground, but he stands by the idea because “AI is here to stay.”

Stallone did not name the project, but he’s spoken previously about a failed pitch to use AI so he could play a young Rambo on the big screen. “I get in trouble for this [but] AI is here to stay,” Stallone said on the podcast. “I wanted to do half-human, half-AI and put it together, and of course everyone’s going nuts.”
Stallone on AI: “You Get Blasted” but “I Would Take That Risk”
The action legend acknowledged that pushing AI in Hollywood means “you get blasted” by the industry — but he framed resistance as futile. “That’s happening, guys,” he said. “People are selling their images. There’s going to be 20 Elvis avatars … This is happening.” For Stallone, the question isn’t whether AI reshapes moviemaking, but who adapts first.
Why AI Remains Hollywood’s Fiercest Debate
Stallone’s comments land in the middle of one of the industry’s most divisive fights, with actors and studios split over digital likenesses, AI-assisted de-aging, and synthetic performances. Coming from the man who defined on-screen toughness for five decades, the message is characteristically blunt: take the risk, or get left behind.
