World of Warcraft first launched more than 20 years ago, becoming the king of the MMORPG genre and establishing Azeroth as one of gaming’s most iconic worlds. Now Blizzard Entertainment is reimagining that world with World of Warcraft: Forever, which launches on November 4 — keeping the feel of the original while adding a ton of new content.

The feel of the OG game has been carried over to WoW: Forever, with the original character models and spell animations still intact. The level 60 cap is back, as is the slower leveling experience that made each level-up feel like an accomplishment. But the details have been enhanced, with improved core systems, items, UI, and world graphics.
New Skyborne Playable Race Joins the Alliance and Horde
The headliner addition is the brand-new playable race, the elven Skyborne, based in the new starting area Zephras Isle — an area in crisis after the air spirits that protected it vanished, leaving its people divided about what to do next. Skyborne can be part of either the Horde or Alliance, with racial abilities determined by alignment: Horde members get access to the Shaman class, Alliance members get the Mage class, and either faction can field Skyborne Warriors, Hunters, Rogues, or Druids, with all-new druid forms exclusive to Skyborne characters.
Over 1,000 New Quests in WoW: Forever
Beyond the new race and zones, WoW: Forever packs in over 1,000 new quests that will take players to corners of the map they’ve never visited before. Even areas long-time players are familiar with hide new surprises, preserving the feeling of discovery while honoring what made the original great. For fans who never left Azeroth — or those who never quite said goodbye — November 4 is circled on the calendar.
