Is Samsung’s split notification and Quick Settings panels driving you crazy? Since One UI 7 landed in January 2025, Galaxy phones open the notification center when you swipe down from the top left or center — and Quick Settings only when you swipe down from the top right. If your muscle memory keeps opening the wrong panel, there is a fix: one toggle puts the unified panel back.
The separate panels annoyed plenty of long-time Galaxy users. Swiping to the wrong side with one hand — especially with larger fingers — is an over-complication of a system that already worked. Here’s how to switch back in seconds.

How to Merge Samsung Notification and Quick Settings Panels
Open your Quick Settings panel and look for the small pencil icon in the top left. Tap it to customize your Quick Panel layout. Then tap Panel settings, also in the top left, and you will see the option to toggle between separate or unified (together) panels.
Select together, and you’re back to the classic behavior: swipe down once for notifications with a few quick settings visible, swipe down again for the full Quick Settings panel.
Why Unified Panels Feel Better
With the panels merged, everything lives in one place — no more guessing which side of the screen your thumb needs to start from. The flow of information stops feeling fragmented, and one-handed use gets much easier.
If you ever want the split layout back, the same toggle takes you right back to Samsung’s default. Two taps to customize, one tap to choose — that’s the whole fix.
