John Cena unveils the John Cena Classic Championship (Credits: WWE)
John Cena gave his name, his legacy and his tournament a championship belt to match. The 17-time World Champion unveiled the John Cena Classic Championship on the November 2 episode of WWE Raw at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn — the custom title that will crown the winner of the upcoming John Cena Classic tournament.
John Cena Classic Championship: Title Design Revealed
Cena’s appearance began with a covered championship waiting in the ring. After making his entrance — and asking ring announcer Alicia Taylor to introduce him a second time — he unveiled the title to the sold-out Brooklyn crowd.
The belt features a black leather strap with a large gold center plate, Cena’s signature written across the middle, and an image of him performing his trademark salute. The word “CHAMPION” appears prominently along the bottom, with gold detailing throughout the design.
Why WWE Created a New Title Instead of Using an Existing One
Rather than repurposing one of WWE’s existing championships, the company built this title specifically for the Cena Classic. Whoever wins the December 14 tournament walks away with a championship directly connected to Cena’s WWE legacy — the hustle, loyalty and respect he has preached for years.
“A championship should represent hard work and dedication,” Cena told the crowd, framing the tournament as deeply personal given his name is attached to it.
The unveiling was part of a three-announcement appearance that also confirmed the Classic’s December 14 date at Disney World in Orlando and the Club WWE fan-vote element for tournament entrants. With Cody Rhodes already named the first invitee, the picture of WWE’s Cena celebration is getting clearer by the week.
