‘Drew Barrymore Show’ Claims Best Season Premiere Ever, ‘Adam’s Law’ No. 1
The Drew Barrymore Show kicked off its seventh season with its highest viewership ever for a premiere episode, and new court show Adam’s Law, produced by Judge Judy Sheindlin and featuring her son, Judge Adam Levy, debuted as the top new syndicated strip. Both shows come from CBS Media Ventures.
The September 14 season debut of The Drew Barrymore Show saw its highest numbers ever in total viewers, up 21% vs last season’s premiere. Averaging 1.8 million total viewers, the show ranks No. 3 among syndicated talk shows in households, total viewers and women/adults 18-49 / 25-54.
Other CBS Media Ventures syndicated titles also fared well during premiere week. Entertainment Tonight remained the No. 1 entertainment news magazine, with Inside Edition the No. 1 daily news magazine and Hot Bench the No. 1 court show still in production. The Perfect Line, hosted by Deborah Norville, ranked as the No. 4 syndicated game show behind Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud.
The stats come amid a diminished first-run syndication field, with Kelly Clarkson ending her daytime talker The Kelly Clarkson Show after seven seasons at the end of August. Sherri Shepherd’s daytime talk show Sherri was canceled after four seasons in February. And in March, NBCUniversal announced it was exiting the first-run syndication business all-together, with Access Hollywood and its offshoot Access Live, The Steve Wilkos Show and Karamo all ending. The Drew Barrymore Show and The Jennifer Hudson Show are the last remaining daytime talkers produced under the traditional syndication model.

Sebastian Stan Says ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Is “Probably Heartbreaking”: “We’ll See Who Makes It To The Next Level”
Sebastian Stan is reprising his role as Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, in Avengers: Doomsday and is teasing that the film will be “heartbreaking.”
Marvel fans are already bracing for the worst, and Stan’s recent interview while promoting Fjord has them guessing that someone will die.
“I haven’t seen the movie, and I don’t know how it turned out,” Stand told Decider. “I’m sure it’s going to be probably heartbreaking, in a lot of ways. We’ll see who makes it to the next level.”
As for filming Avengers: Doomsday, Stan said he “got a chance to reunite with everyone,” including Chris Evans, adding, “It was very nostalgic to look back, and think about all of these years that we’ve known each other, and grew up together. It’s incredible in that way. It’s been a family and it never stops being that way.”

In a recent interview, the Russo Brothers said they started filming Avengers: Doomsday without a finished script.
“We’re improvisation-based, rehearsal-based directors,” Joe Russo told AP. “We like to see what the actors bring to the characters, and sometimes you don’t get the actors until a few days or few weeks before you shoot them. And a lot of the time, that’s when the magic happens.”

Glen Powell Says He Doesn’t Talk Politics: ‘My Calling Is Elsewhere’
Glen Powell isn’t interested in discussing politics.
In a new Esquire cover story, The Running Man actor said that despite his mother Cyndy Powell’s work in the U. S. Treasury Department under the Reagan administration, current events never made its way into his family’s dinner-table conversations. “Thank God,” he said.
The actor said “over time” he has “realized that politics divide people. People trying to prove their point — for me, it’s the worst version of a conversation. I genuinely do not like the discourse. It’s not as healthy as it once was.”
Powell said that engaging in political conversations was “not presently possible.” He added, “I applaud people for jumping into those things and fighting for what they believe in. If I were a political person, I would be talking about it. For me, my calling is elsewhere.”
The Top Gun: Maverick is not the only celebrity asserting their disinterest in speaking about politics. Powell’s Anyone But You co-star Sydney Sweeney said she has “never been here to talk about politics” in a cover interview with Cosmopolitan in January following the fallout from her viral American Eagle jeans ad.
Sweeney also said she doesn’t anticipate she will confirm her political beliefs: “I’m not a political person. I’m in the arts. I’m not here to speak on politics. That’s not an area I’ve ever even imagined getting into. It’s not why I became who I am. I became an actor because I like to tell stories, but I don’t believe in hate in any form. I believe we should all love each other and have respect and understanding for one another.”
Last November, Jennifer Lawrence questioned if she should speak out against Trump after being vocal about her political stance during his first term.
“I don’t really know if I should,” Lawrence told The New York Times on its The Interview podcast about speaking out against Trump and politics. “During the first Trump administration, I felt like I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off. But as we’ve learned, election after election, celebrities do not make a difference whatsoever on who people vote for. So then what am I doing? I’m just sharing my opinion on something that’s going to add fuel to a fire that’s ripping the country apart. We are so divided.”
Elsewhere in the profile, Powell addressed The Running Man‘s weak box office performance. “They let go of an entire marketing department a month before our movie came out in the middle of a merger,” he said of Paramount, the studio behind the film.
The Running Man released on Nov. 14, 2025; on Oct. 29, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Paramount began series of staff cuts, resulting in about 1,000 jobs being impacted.
THR reached out to Paramount for comment, but did not hear back by the time of publication.
