The wrestling world is mourning the loss of independent wrestler Chase Brown, known to fans as ‘Cauliflower’ Chase Brown, who has passed away at the age of 41. The news was first relayed by fellow wrestler Cheeseburger, who shared a heartfelt tribute honoring a performer remembered as much for his character as for his kindness.

A One-of-a-Kind Character
Brown began his in-ring career in 2012, grinding through the independent scene before earning appearances with Ring of Honor in 2015 and 2016. But it was his reinvention that made him unforgettable: taking a guitar to the ring, playing his own music, and producing a giant cauliflower that he would theatrically bite into mid-entrance.
The ‘Cauliflower’ nickname itself came from none other than Terry Funk, a nod to Brown’s cauliflower ear — the mark of a legitimate shooter and a genuinely tough competitor. Beneath the comedy gimmick was a wrestler who had put in the work, coming up through the ROH tryouts and ring crew in the mid-2010s and earning every opportunity through sheer effort.
Tributes Pour In
Cheeseburger’s tribute painted a picture of a beloved locker-room presence. He recalled how Brown’s charm and humor made grueling 12-hour ROH television crew days fly by, how he would serenade the crew backstage with songs on his guitar, and how the entire ring crew erupted when Chase finally earned his first ROH match. “Truly a one of a kind professional wrestler and a legitimate genuinely good person in this crazy business,” he wrote, extending love and condolences to Brown’s wife and child.
Brown is survived by his wife and kid. Our Insane Blogs extends its condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him. Rest in peace, Cauliflower.
