The end of an era is coming for C4 Wrestling. The Ottawa independent promotion announced it will run its final event at the Preston Event Center on November 27 — a show that doubles as its 19th anniversary event. The promotion stressed it is not closing; it is simply being forced to leave its long-time home.

Born in November 2007 in Ottawa, C4 arrived in a city that wasn’t exactly a hotbed for independent wrestling. Founder and owner Marco D’Angelo said the goal was never about star power — it was about giving talented wrestlers opportunities, building ties with the wider indie scene, and giving local talent a platform that extended beyond Ottawa.

“Circumstances Beyond Our Control”

According to the announcement, C4 had been planning a big celebration for 2027, its 20th year. But a few months ago, news arrived that changed everything “almost overnight” — the promotion went from planning an anniversary celebration to figuring out how to survive it. Continuing at Preston, the statement said, “is simply no longer possible” due to circumstances beyond their control, though the promotion expressed nothing but appreciation for its nine years in the building.

Some of the greatest nights in C4 history happened inside those walls, and fans can expect an emotional send-off on November 27 as the promotion says goodbye to the venue that became synonymous with its name.

Nineteen Years of Canadian Indie Wrestling

C4 is one of the few Canadian independent promotions to last nearly two decades, outlasting countless one-off and short-lived groups in the region. Whatever comes next, the November 27 show will be a farewell to the Preston Event Center — and a launchpad into whatever chapter comes next for one of Canada’s indie pillars.
