No Indication WWE Plans Sphere as Backup WrestleMania 43 Venue

WrestleMania 43 is set for April 2027 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will be the first WrestleMania ever held outside of North America. Recent speculation had suggested WWE might line up The Sphere as a fallback option, but Fightful Select reports that is not the case.

“There is no indication that WWE is planning to use The Sphere in Las Vegas as a backup WrestleMania venue, despite recent speculation,” the report states. The scheduling alone makes such a plan difficult: The Sphere already has John Mayer performances booked during the internally targeted April 10-11 dates, as well as at the end of the month, while Oprah Winfrey is booked there April 2-4.

WrestleMania 43 Stays on Course for Riyadh

The report effectively shuts down the Sphere theory and keeps the focus on Riyadh, where WWE is preparing its biggest show of the year in a brand-new market. A first WrestleMania outside North America is a landmark moment for the company, and the absence of a Las Vegas backup plan suggests WWE is fully committed to delivering the show in Saudi Arabia as planned.

Of course, plans in wrestling can change quickly, and the road to April 2027 is still long. But for now, fans dreaming of a Sphere WrestleMania can put that idea aside: according to Fightful Select, it is simply not on the table.
